Who are we?

Right Medicine was formed in 2000 with our first Pharmacy in Stirling University. Since then we have grown in size to 35 pharmacies across Scotland covering most health board areas. We have managed to grow due to the teams we have working with us. We continue to grow and want to ensure that we have pharmacists of the future to join this growth. We have invested significant time and funding into supporting students and pharmacists of the future via our summer placements, uni placements, and also via our early year’s pharmacist programme which has allowed an extremely supported first year as a pharmacist post-registration and beyond.

What can we offer you?

We can offer a 4 week paid summer placement programme. You would be working in one of our pharmacies supported by both the pharmacy team, and also the company training and development manager. You will be given a project to complete throughout your placement, but will also have plenty of opportunities to experience the day-to-day tasks and challenges of community pharmacy.

Don’t take our word for it?

Here is what some of our students had to say…

Katie
Throughout my time working with Right Medicine, I have been able to continually develop my clinical and professional skills to feel as confident and comfortable with making the leap to becoming a registered pharmacist. Through the summer placements, I was able to meet some amazing and helpful staff who always took the time to show me new things and support me when completing consultations. Whilst completing my pre-reg year in Cowie, I was greatly supported by the pharmacist as my tutor as well as the pharmacy team who helped build my knowledge further, help prepare me for the exam and never failed to make me laugh. Now as a fully qualified pharmacist completing the post-registration course I have been supported by the training manager and my educational supervisor to ensure that I am getting the time and opportunities to build-up my portfolio. All the Forth Valley pharmacy staff have been so great to work with and learn from, and my ASM has been so supportive and hands-on whenever I have needed it!
Faye

I undertook my foundation training year with Right Medicine Pharmacy up in Grampian. During my foundation training year I was provided with various learning opportunities such as visits to GP surgeries, liasing with other healthcare teams and gained valuable knowledge and experience to prepare me for being a qualified pharmacist. I also attended various training days down at head office with other foundation trainees and newly qualified pharmacists which allowed us to share our learning and experiences with each other. During my training year, I was not only supported from my tutor but also other pharmacists and teams within the company which is not something you can get from many other independent pharmacy groups! I really enjoyed my foundation training year with Right Medicine and have now progressed into a pharmacy manager role within the company whilst undertaking the post-registration foundation training programme.
